Amalia Maya

Amalia Maya was born in Israel and raised in Haiti. Fluent in French, Creole and Hebrew, she is a cultured and worldly dancer who adds grace and finesse to her every move. She is a patient and thorough teacher with exquisite style and excellent technique. From an early childhood Amalia has studied many forms of dance including Haitian folklore, classical ballet, tap and jazz. Eight years ago, Amalia Maya discovered bellydancing and a true love for the art. Amalia has studied under such icons as Tamalyn Dallal, Bozenka, Yousry Sharif, Raqia Hassan, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love and Unmata. Amalia’s passion for the art has offered her such opportunities that she has become an international sought after instructor. Amalia Maya continues to teach and perform both national and international arenas and just recently at the Eilat Festival in Israel, January 2010. Amalia currently teaches at Bozenka’s Bellydance Academy in Miami and is a member of their performing troupe.
